The media can be a misleading thing for children. I recently had my 6 year old daughter ask me: “Dad, why is carbon bad?” I quizzed her why she thought carbon was bad and she told me that she had seen on the news about the need to reduce carbon emissions.

Carbon emissions is a sound bite that can be misleading. It is a misnomer. It is not carbon per se that is causing the world’s weather to warm up and melt the polar ice caps. 3. Try to create a colourful room for your child. Pick calming colours and toys that are interesting while supporting intellectual development. You do not have to sell gold to do so. Sometimes your own imagination is the most important in creating colourful and children friendly environment. Three years old can be fascinated by the simplest things. Let them to be involved in changes they will be more than happy to help.

These are all examples of people starting young on their careers as inventors, composers and entreprenuers. The moral is that it is never too young to start. Young people are naturally creative and have the energy to achieve great things. We must nurture talent and encourage children to pursue their dreams. We mustn’t stifle talent with a Gradgrind approach to education. We also shouldn’t tell young people to be more realistic and buckle down.
